Our volunteers care about your journey.

Life changes.  Family, friends, jobs, health or where we live can change over time.

Sometimes, as life changes, you may feel isolated and alone.

Sometimes, it may seem family and friends don't want to hear what is making you unhappy. You try not to be a burden.

Please remember, you are never a burden to a Samaritan volunteer.  Whether the issue happened recently or a long time ago, we can talk about it. And we promise, we won't judge.

Loneliness and the lack of connectedness can have significant physical and emotional consequences.

Remarkably, after nearly 50 years of experience, we have learned an important lesson - that having a conversation with someone who is kind, willing to listen, not judge nor give advice, can make the day feel a little better overall.

Sometimes, having a conversation with someone who cares to take the time to listen is all we need to begin having a new outlook on life.

Call us once. Call us over a short or long period of time. Call us every day for years.  We welcome your calls for as long as you need us.*

Samaritans, can I help you?" Our volunteers are trained in the international, nonjudgmental, listening model called befriending.

We are not a licensed health or mental health agency and never replace emergency, professional or pastoral care. We are a local, charitable organization.

If needed, we do have referrals for emergency and supportive care.

*Note: We are a small charitable organization. From time to time, volunteers may not be available.  Please try back at a later time or day. We do not transfer call to other numbers.  We don't call 911 without the caller's permission.

Emergency? Call 911. Need to talk call The Samaritans.
